fabulous location

Our only suggestion is that the unit sleeps four, but there is only seating (not very comfortable) when another chair is needed. The view & location is fabulous & close to all activities in the region.

view & quiet atmosphere.

Riversdale estate Cambridge Tasmania.

The external environment is absolutely fantastic and really beautiful and relaxing A little bit difficult to negotiate on foot for a person with a walking frame. Very bumpy which caused me significant pain. Not very well equipped for a 2 bedroom 4 person unit = very small number of plates, cutlery etc. Saucepans and baking dishes need replacement Only one sponge that fell apart when used. No washing facilities. This needs to be stated as we had been travelling prior to going to Tasmania.' On arrival we had to defrost a small bar fridge which had so much ice door would not close. Fridge too small if 4 people were there. Oven was really dirty with fat hanging off the shelves. Table top and design work on dining table need to be taken outside, hosed and scrubbed. Everything stuck to the table and when I went to wash the table the one sponge fell apart. Nowhere to hang clothes in bathroom ie no hooks on door and nowhere to put soap/shampoo etc in shower. Did not use the bath.

I gave the rating as the cottage could have been excellent if it was cleaner better equipped and we had known there were no washing facilities. The area and environment were beautiful with lots to see and do. The cottage was lovely but needed a good overall clean and cooking equipment needed to be cleaned and in some cases replaced. Bathroom needs place for shampoo etc and clothes. Eileen Pic

I would commend this well presented cottage reminiscent of a French villa set in the confines of a working vineyard. Its situation is adjacent to many places of interest for the traveller who enjoys learning of the history of the area .

What this member liked most:

The surroundings were peaceful , the vista was rural, the adjacent places of interest included wineries, cheese making, and an oyster farm. The airport was less than 10 minutes drive for the return flight to the mainland.

Cute well equipped cottage on a winery with lovely views from the veranda to the Coal River.

The cottage is well equipped and it was lovely to be in the country but so close to Hobart and other towns. Most nights we sat on the patio enjoying the views over the vines to the Coal River. It was not suitable for us as two couples as Bedroom 1 is open plan to the lounge room with no privacy, no curtain or screen. It would be fine for 4 people from one family. A car is essential and easy to manage.

What this member liked most:

The location- It was lovely to be out of the city but still close enough for day trips to Hobart and the surrounding area e.g. Richmond and other country towns.

What a delight!

We loved our 5 nights here staying early Feb 2016, the location is fantastic being 10 mins from airport & 20 mins from Hobart harbour. Excellent location for day trips of which we did many. Not far from the beautiful old town of Richmond (10mins). The Estate itself sits amongst many vineyards and you are welcome to walk Riversdale (just remember to wear a high vis !), which also borders a rivulet. There is also a function centre housing an orangery (for high teas), lunch serving a lovely French bistro & obviously a wine door/tasting room all with magnificent views of the vineyard and the rivulet. The Estate is beautifully presented and the service wonderful. The cottages are cosy housing comfortable beds, slipper bath in a spacious bathroom and a kitchen with the works but just be aware it is not a large fridge. We'd love to return :)
