Staying at the Quest Napier is an experience you’ll never forget. Built in 1919, and completely refurbished in 2009, this architectural gem can be found quietly nestled at the heart of New Zealand’s undisputed Art Deco capital.

An exquisite Spanish mission-style building. Each apartment has been cleverly designed to make full use of the available space, including a kitchenette equipped with a fridge and freezer. Lie back, relax and unwind with a movie or that book you bought at the airport.

Stylish contemporary design and the charm of a by-gone era have been cleverly melded together to produce a truly original result. A stone’s throw from the supermarket and a number of delightful local restaurants, the Quest Napier’s apartments are perfect for those who are just as happy rustling up a little something in the kitchen as they are eating out. Either way you’ll be able to enjoy a glass of one of New Zealand’s finest wines from the surrounding Hawke’s Bay region.

The Quest Napier's quiet and comfortable four-star accommodation is fantastic value. It is the perfect launch pad for experiencing the magic of one New Zealand’s premier tourism destinations. To stay at the Quest Napier is to discover a whole new way of holidaying.

Some Aspects Need Improvement

There are some matters that need fairly urgent attention-the bath towels are very poor-small and thread bare, the cooling system is inadequate at least for units facing north, be careful if you cook--the fire alarm is somewhat sensitive

What this member liked most:

The wine tasting in the Hawkes Bay area and the Art Deco buildings in Napier but don't send your 31 year old wife to either Countdown or New World to buy alcohol without taking her Australian passport as the check out chicks seem paranoid about underage --i.e. being under 18 ! Would have thought 13 years above the required cutoff would be adequate at least it is in Australia and it worked in all p

Comfortable & central in Napier

We stayed a week in Oct/Nov 2016 and found it very comfortable and in central downtown Napier. The Manager, Fiona, was very helpful. while the unit delivered everything we wanted while there. A $4/day parking was available during the weekdays (free on the weekend) next door to the hotel. Secure undercover parking was $13/day. Good location with a host of food outlets closeby.

What this member liked most:

Our unit had a patio in front facing north which provided additional space for relaxing.

Overheated

The staff were great, the room clean and tidy but there were issues. Secure parking is $13/day or $4/day in the adjacent car park which was good. The compendium was not up to date because Quest is changing it's logo?? Wifi is charged but in fact is free - compendium out of date - same with TV channels. DVD player didn't work, basin plug didn't fits host of glassware and so on. When this is mentioned to staff it is promptly sorted (but not the DVD or TV channels) So really reasonable apart from the heat (no air conditioning). The heat at night was so bad that we asked for a change of rooms- which was promptly done, but even the 2nd room was uncomfortable.
