From a clean blue lake, to a breathtaking fury of the Huka Falls, there is something for everyone at Lake Taupo. Located at the heart of New Zealand’s North Island, the Lake Taupo district is an area of considerable beauty and diversity, offering a wide range of activities, adventures and scenic opportunities.
Often described as the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the North Island, Lake Taupo is set amidst clean, green countryside, spectacular mountain scenery, beautiful native bush and some of the largest pine forests in the Southern Hemisphere. The area’s lakes and rivers are very popular for a variety of both winter and summer water sports, including sailing, water skiing and jet boating, with its neighbouring countryside providing the perfect environment for a number of land sports, including mountain biking and hiking.
At the heart of all that this area has to offer, the Phoenix Resort is set in a picturesque rose garden situated across the road from Lake Taupo. The resort offers a mixture of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, and the resort has tapped into the thermal layer to provide each unit with its own thermally heated pool. In winter visitors can ski at nearby ski fields. Horseback riding, sailing, water skiing, swimming, rafting, canoeing and golf are all available nearby.
Prolific trout fishing can be done in the lakes and the rivers such as the mighty Tongariro, famous for its white water rafting and canoeing.
The resort is only an hour’s drive away is Rotorua with its hot thermal pools, boiling lakes and exotic forests. Each apartment at Phoenix has modern bedrooms, sleeping from 2 to 6 people, spacious living areas and a kitchen with the latest in labour saving technology. Each apartment has its very own thermal pool, telephone, stereo, TV and in-house video. The two bedroom units have a second TV in the master bedroom.
All apartments are designed to provide you with the ultimate in comfort and relaxed surroundings.
