Amora Lake Resort Okawa Bay

Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand

Inland from the Bay of Plenty with its magnificent beaches lies the internationally recognised tourist destination of Rotorua, where thermal activity has created a feast of natural wonders from slow bubbling mud pools and thermal springs to spouting geysers.

The Amora Lake Resort Okawa Bay is located on the shores of Lake Rotoiti, about 15 minutes drive from central Rotorua. The Resort is noted for its restful atmosphere, and the spaciousness of the 7 acres of park-style grounds. The rooms have views over the lake or the surrounding gardens, with a private beach on the shores of Lake Rotoiti.

The condominiums are tastefully decorated in restful colours. There is a heated pool onsite, and natural mineral hot pools in a magnificent lakeside setting, and accessible only by boat, just down the lake.

Everything is provided except for your food and drinks. There is a full supply of linen, crockery, and kitchen equipment for 6 people. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave and Sky TV plus DVD player are in each condominium, and there is parking for 2 cars behind.

Just bring your food and clothes, plus maybe a good book and a fishing rod!

When you don't feel like preparing it yourself, the on-site Duxton Hotel (which is not part of the timeshare resort) offers the finest and freshest international cuisine and New Zealand wines in the restaurant and stylish lounge bar.

Facilities include a tennis court and gym, non-motorised water activities, mountain bike hire and fishing.

A cruise launch runs trips to the hot pools according to demand.

The resort is within easy driving distance of all the major adventure attractions of Rotorua and the surrounding area, yet is amid a tranquil rural, lakeside setting.

Rotorua is on the shores of Lake Rotorua and from the moment people arrive they know they're somewhere quite different.  The beautiful landscape and friendly people make this a jewel in the New Zealand crown of holiday destinations.

At Rotorua's famous geothermal hotspots there are spouting geysers, bubbling mud pools, steaming craters, and warm geothermal pools. Rotorua is centrally located in the North Island, only an hour's drive away is Taupo to the south or Mt Manuganui and Tauranga to the east

There are many Activities and attractions in Rotorua to choose from. Skyline Skyrides is an all age, all weather attraction or try out the many attractions at the top of the Gondola. Ride the Luge or one of the other exciting rides and activities. Dine overlooking Rotorua at the restaurant ‘in the sky'.

Wai-o-tapu Thermal Wonderland is a geothermal sightseeing attraction just outside of Rotorua. The area is known as New Zealand's most colourful and diverse geothermal sightseeing experience. Visitors enjoy a wide range of features in one location including geysers, mud pools, mineral terraces, colourful hot and cold pools, and steaming Volcanic Lakes.

The park is home to a variety of trout, which can be hand fed, giant eels, thar (goats), wallabies, native kune kune pigs, and more!

A pride of Lions is housed in a separate area and there's no extra charge to visit Lion Park. Lion cubs up to six months old may be patted and photographed by visitors when available.

From the earliest days of colonisation, Rotorua has been known as a "spa town". The tudor-style architecture of its old bathhouse and lakeside setting gives the city a relaxed feel and its thermal pools are a perfect way to unwind after a full day of sightseeing. At the famous Polynesian Spa, you can even choose from a range of temperatures and mineral compositions.

Situated in this natural wonderland, there is a definite "club" feeling about Okawa Bay Resort, with people mixing easily. If solitude or privacy is your thing, however, no-one will be disturbing you in your retreat.
