Escape to the Mighty Murray River!

Twin towns Yarrawonga and Mulwala offer visitors an inland aquatic paradise that is unrivalled in Australia. Lake Mulwala was formed by the building of a weir across the Murray River in the 1930's and the resulting 23 kilometre long lake is the perfect location for every type of water activity you can imagine.

The comfortable two bedroom apartments include two bathrooms; a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave oven; reverse cycle air-conditioning; a separate living area with colour TV and in-house movies; and a colour TV in each bedroom.

The Lake is right on your doorstep for all types of water recreation, including sailing, water skiing and fishing, and the many sports and recreation facilities are complemented with barbeque and picnic areas available in beautiful lakeside settings.

There's also plenty to do on land as well. The towns boast the largest (45 holes) golf course in the Southern Hemisphere, and nearby you'll also find a selection of some of Australia's best wineries - only a short drive from town are the famous wineries of Moira, Rutherglen and Milawa.

There are some fantastic parks and scenic walks in the area including Yarrawonga Regional Park where you'll find a typical redgum forest with its magnificent birdlife and statuesque trees that line the banks of the mighty Murray River.

A family favourite, the Chinaman's Island Walking Track, is where you'll see a multitude of wondrous bird life such as cockatoos, galahs, water birds, thornbills, white ibis, herons, pelicans and swans. Or make an appointment to visit Savernake Station Forest which offers an awesome 40 hectares of native vegetation which is home to over 120 bird species and a lengthening list of over 200 flora species.

Other attractions in the area include the Old Yarra Mine Shaft tourist complex; the Tudor House Clock Museum; the Yarrawonga Mulwala Pioneer Museum; Tunzafun Amusement Park offering mini golf, dodgems, mini train, chair-o-plane, trampolines, and more; or Byramine Homestead, and historic homestead established in 1842 by pioneer, Elizabeth Hume which also features magnificent gardens.

Spend your days sightseeing aboard a cruise boat or visit the wineries and historical towns, which are only a short distance away.
