GENERAL

  • Can anyone join DAE?

    Anyone with timeshare, Vacation Club or fractional ownership can join DAE for free. Our membership benefits start when you register your ownership. Once you have a verified ownership on your account you can begin booking Rental and bonus weeks straight away! Then once you bank an eligible week you will receive a deposit credit that can be used to exchange for any available week at a local or international resort in our system.
  • Can I join DAE if I am a member of another exchange company?

    As an owner, you can be a member of any exchange company. DAE has no membership fee, so you can become a member with us and still keep your other memberships. However, you can’t deposit your week with more than one exchange company at a time in any one entitlement period. If your week is overbooked or double banked, you will be responsible for any costs incurred on an inbound guest or DAE (so please don’t do it).
  • Do you have any other fees or charges?

    Because we like to keep things simple, our exchange fees are some of the lowest in the industry. We don’t charge guest fees, and you won’t be charged any annual fees for our free membership. In some regions there is an additional cost if you wish to book an exchange with more bedrooms than your original deposit (known as a unit upgrade fee) – so check with your local office to find out if this will apply. We also offer a Cancellation Protection Option (CPO) at the time of booking, which you can choose to decline (although we highly recommend it in case your travel plans change, and you don’t want to lose your credit).
  • What are your Terms of Deposit?

    To bank a week with DAE, the maintenance fee must be paid in full on the week you are depositing. You won’t be able to exchange your week for another week unless your maintenance fees are paid for the banked year. You will also not be allowed to bank or exchange a future week unless that year's maintenance fees are paid.

    The week you are depositing for your exchange must not have been utilized or assigned to another party or company. You can’t deposit your week with more than one exchange company at a time, in any one entitlement period, as this will cause an overbooking of your unit. Any expenses incurred to an inbound guest or DAE, denied access to your week as a result of a double banking with another exchange company, will be your responsibility.

    A number of resorts like to bank the weeks on their owner's behalf. Check with your resort if you are unsure of their procedures, or we can advise you which resorts operate on this basis.

    We can accept your deposited week as long as it is more than eight (8) weeks from the check-in date.

    We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to refuse, deny or cancel a Deposit.

  • Do I need to login?

    You need to be logged in to daelive.com to access the full range of services offered by DAE, including banking a week or booking an exchange.

    If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot Password and enter the email address associated with your DAE account. We will email you instructions to reset your password.

    If you are not a member, without logging in you will still be able to search our global network of destinations and learn about the awesome benefits of being a DAE member (which will make you want to join anyway) but you won’t be able to see any availability or make a booking.

BOOKING

  • When do I pay the exchange fee?

    If you have banked your week with DAE and have been issued a Deposit Credit, you are ready to book any exchange online, instantly. The exchange fee is due at the time of booking (that’s when you click the BOOK button and the magic happens).

    If you have submitted a request through our Match Request system, you won’t pay an exchange fee until after we have confirmed your request and you’ve accepted the week we’ve found for you. You won’t need to pay up front until we’ve found what you’re looking for.

  • Do I receive a confirmation of my booking?

    You sure do. Generally, this will be emailed to you automatically as soon as a booking is confirmed in our system. However, if you do not have an email address on your account, this may be posted out to you in the mail. All the information you need to contact the resort is included in the confirmation. All confirmations are final, non-transferable and subject to our cancellation policy. Only those named on the confirmation will be able to check-in at the resort, so if this changes before your travel dates, you’ll need to contact us. DAE does not take responsibility for documents that go missing in the snail mail (aka the postal service) – so if you have an email address, it is definitely best to add it to your DAE account.
  • Can I check-in on any day of the week?

    Unlike hotels, timeshare resorts normally set one day of the week as their check-in and check-out days. These check-in times are set by the resorts, so you will need to make your vacation plans according to the day of the week the resort has set. The check-in details for each resort can be found in the Resort Overview on daelive.com, under the handy little tab called Important Information.
  • Can I view when my credit will expire with DAE?

    Yes, you sure can. Once you are logged in, on the main Dashboard the first thing you will see is the number of Deposit Credits you have in our system.

    Click the circle to dropdown the relevant information on your valid credits – including the expiry date. Remember to get booking if your expiry date is approaching! You have 3 years from the date you banked your week to book an exchange before your credit expires and is gone for good.

  • How can I book an exchange week if I don't have a credit in the bank?

    If you have found the exchange week you want to book, click the BOOK button and follow the prompts, being sure to read all the relevant Terms & Conditions (and checking the boxes so we know you’ve understood them).

    Before you can confirm your booking, you’ll be directed to a Bank & Book page, where you can select a registered week that you want to convert into a deposit credit to be used for the booking. From there, we will take you through all the steps you need to bank your week, and once you have a valid Deposit Credit, you can continue on to payment and confirmation of your booking. Hooray!

BONUS WEEKS

  • What is a Bonus Week?

    Bonus Weeks are weeks that have been deposited with us that are within 60 days of their check-in date and are not matched to any outstanding requests from other members. Rather than let these units go vacant, they are offered to our members as last-minute, deeply discounted Bonus Weeks. Members simply pay the cash price listed for that week, without using a Deposit Credit (so you can keep that for your next exchange). No credit needed, no exchange fees to pay, just one low “bonus week” price. Perfect for a little bit of spontaneous, last-minute travel!
  • Can I book Bonus Weeks for family and friends?

    Yes, you can book Bonus Weeks for other guests without paying any additional guest certificate fees. However, it’s important to note you will be responsible for the booking and the guests using the timeshare accommodation. So be sure they behave like you would when staying at the resort.
  • How many Bonus Weeks can I book?

    There is no limit to the number of Bonus Weeks you can book.
  • When purchasing a Bonus Week, do I pay an exchange fee as well as the Bonus Price listed?

    No, you only need pay the Bonus Week price listed for the week you are going to book. That’s it!
  • How far in advance can I book a Bonus Week?

    Bonus Weeks become available about 60 days prior to the check-in date of the vacation week. You can find them when you Search What’s Available from the member Dashboard, by selecting Bonus Weeks under the Week Types dropdown menu.

CPO

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    DAE members can choose the Cancellation Protection Option (CPO) at the time of booking an exchange. CPO only applies to exchange transactions and covers the deposit credit.

    Accepting CPO:
    If you’ve accepted CPO at the time of booking and request a cancellation of the confirmed exchange, you must do so no later than 72 hours prior to the check-in date and time of that exchange reservation confirmation, for the cancellation to be valid. You will then have until the expiration of the original exchange credit to make a replacement exchange and the value of the exchange fee will be credited to your DAE account. If you have paid a unit upgrade fee, the value of this will also be credited to your DAE account. You will then have the option of purchasing a new CPO on any replacement exchange for the relevant CPO fee at the time of booking. No monetary refunds are allowed on cancellations regardless of whether a CPO has been obtained. CPO cannot be used to cancel a confirmed exchange and then rebook the same resort week as either a Bonus Week or additional benefit. We ask all members to be fair and use CPO for its intended purposes and not to misuse it.

    Declining CPO:
    CPO is completely optional. DAE members who decline CPO in connection with a confirmed exchange will forfeit their exchange fee upon cancellation of a confirmed exchange, which includes any change in dates, vacation destination or resorts (guest name changes are allowed). Additionally, the exchange credit (including the ability to make an exchange) will be forfeited if the DAE member cancels any exchange reservation confirmation within four (4) weeks of the scheduled check-in date and time.

REQUESTS

  • Can I request a specific resort?

    You can submit a request for an exchange at a specific resort, however we always warn members that this limits your possibilities of confirmation based on availability at only one resort. The benefit of DAE is that we often have multiple resorts in one destination, so if you are flexible on the resort, your chances of matching with an exchange in the destination you want will be higher.
  • Can I request specific dates?

    When making a request for specific dates, it is best to choose a window of several weeks or several date options in case a specific week is in particularly high demand. DAE members who have upgraded to Gold Advantage benefits receive advance-notice and have priority, so if you are hoping to book an exchange during a high demand week or prime season, we recommend considering an upgrade to our Gold Advantage benefits to give yourself the best chance at securing these weeks.
  • How far in advance can I put in my exchange request?

    Most resorts will open reservations to DAE 10 months out from the check-in date. However, you can put in your request up to one year out from your requested travel dates. We’ll see your request and try to match it as soon as it becomes available to us.
  • Do I need to plan ahead?

    The more time you give us to find a match, the more likely we are to find something just right for you. Feel free to pop a request into the system as soon as you know when/where you would like to go. We will do our best to find something that is just right for you!

  • If my request is for more than one week, will they be confirmed at the same time?

    Weeks are confirmed one at a time. When you confirm the first request, it is with the knowledge we may or may not be able to confirm your remaining requests. It is your decision to either accept or decline our exchange offers.
  • Do I need to bank my week in order to put in a request?

    No — as a DAE member, you can submit an exchange request without having to bank your week first. Once we find what you’re after, we'll contact you to bank your week before you confirm. But be sure to have a week to bank otherwise the week you’ve requested will be offered to the next member in line.
